Thanks Les Paul for your early recordings with wife Mary Ford, multi track recording, and oh yea, ROCK N ROLL!
1915 - 2009
Morning Laura,
I too grew up with music in my ear and Les Paul and Mary Ford were among them. I had no idea he was in his 90's. Does that make us OLD?
Thanks for the post.
Thank you Laura...he is one of Wisconsin's gifts to the world...I think of him often when driving the street named for him....and the music on the radio he influenced...Have a prosperous weekend !
No Hal, we're not old, we're seasoned!
Sally & David, I couldn't agree more! Thanks for the gift!
Laura...
The man was so gifted and talented, and will live forever through his music and namesake guitars!

Laura, Les Paul was a genius. His over dubbing of sound tracks revolutionized the recording industry. His invention of the solid body guitar changed the guitar forever. He will be missed.
It is amazing to me to see how many 12 year olds know him and it is a good thing.

When I heard the news, I broke out my Gibson Les Paul and just looked at it. I couldn't even bring myself to play. This is truly sad news. Les Paul will be missed.
Thanks for the tribute - it is so deserving. A dear friend of mine had a trio that had to break up when member Mary Ford married Les oh, so many years ago.
Without a doubt Les Paul changed music forever with his invention of the electric guitar. Think of all the greats that wouldn't have been as great without him.
Hi Laura
Les Paul was an innovator and had a lot of influence for generations to come.
Good luck and success.

Laura - I remember seeing him and Mary Ford on the Arthur Godfrey show when I was a little kid. This isn't from Arthur Godfrey, but, it is still a great version of How High the Moon.
