There is no aspect of real estate that pleases me more than the moment first time buyers "discover" the property that they want to buy and call home. The reactions are varied - they can range from a young couple holding hands and pointing out what they think is "perfect" to the "cool" single deciding "this will work".
However, many steps need to be taken before that moment of "discovery" happens. Utiliziing my 33 years experience assisting Prince William County VA home buyers. including very many first time buyers, I have authored a booklet, "Home Buyer's Guide" that lays out the home buying process in detail.

For example, many people believe the law requires a termite inspection be performed prior to the settlement on a home. Wrong! It is a requirement of the lender to protect their financial investment in the property.
