Katerina, I went to Active Rain and twitter, and then CitiMortgage gave us what they promised. I also emailed the short sale negotiator asking him to have a heart and do what he said, since he was going to allow the buyer to be homeless after all this delay, allow the seller to foreclose and if the house forecloses, in our market, it will only go for $40,000 due to the broken basement walls, ancient windows and deteriorating roof.

We close on Monday, file on Tuesday.

How do I reach those people you mention - that would be my question. The various players are relatively impossible to find.

Richard, My mentor says that since they didn't give us a reason, they are just playing hardball or doing a "last minute swap."

We pushed back (see comment above) and they agreed...without providing signatures, leaving us to rely on the email, being crazy difficult to talk to...

So we did get enough of a go ahead and we can close on Monday - great, but costing all hundreds of dollars in fees, extensions, lost work (trying to schedule the move), time that could and should have been spent elsewhere and great frustration for all.

Katerina, amen to that. It's very important not to over use the good contacts that we have, and to have systems in place to assure that we have done our part first.

I know we tried contacting family members who worked at one bank, and that also worked well. I would also think that we might be successful looking at LinkedIn contacts and asking if they might know someone.
