Columbus home prices are rising - Maureen McCabe Real Living HER

Columbus all counties combined active and sale prices

Friday Chris Svec, the Vice President of New Market Development for Real Living, Inc. tweeted:

CSvec: There is a 7.4 month supply of homes on the market in Columbus, OH - a 3 year low! And prices are on the rise.

The 7.4 month supply of homes is all counties combined for our Columbus Board of REALTORS® MLS (multiple listing service)

Columbus home prices rising?  Supply and demand.... yes prices are rising in Central Ohio.  Some places more than others.

That 7.4 month supply of homes is for the area served by the Columbus Board of REALTORS multiple listing service (MLS). The Columbus Board of REALTORS®  Multiple Listing Service serves all of Franklin, Delaware, Fayette, Madison, Morrow and Union counties and parts of Champagne, Clark, Licking, Fairfield, Knox, Logan, Marion and Pickaway counties.

Lotsa ground.

I work primarily in northern Franklin County and Southern Delaware County including "Clintonville, Columbus, Dublin, Grandview, Hilliard, Lewis Center, Powell, Upper Arlington, Westerville, Worthington"

Many Central Ohio areas I care about have a much shorter supply of housing:

  • Clintonville - a north Columbus neighborhood -  3.3  months of inventory based on sales (MLS area)
  • Dublin - a northwest Columbus suburb - 5.7 months of inventory based on July sales (school district)
  • Gahanna - a northeast Columbus suburb - 9.1 months of inventory based on sales
  • Grandview Heights  - a suburb just northwest of downtown Columbus  3.6 months of inventory based on recent sale (school district)
  • Hilliard a northwest Columbus suburb  3.8 months of inventory based on sales (school district)
  • Lewis Center - Southern Delaware County suburban area - 5.4  months of inventory based on sales (the 43035 ZIP)
  • New Albany - a northeast Columbus suburb  -  7.8 months of inventory based on sales (the Plain Local School District)
  • Powell - a southern Delaware county community -  6.4 months of inventory based on sales (City of Powell)
  • Upper Arlington - a northwest Columbus suburb -  6.1 months of inventory based on sales (the Upper Arlington School District)
  • Westerville - a northeast Columbus suburb 4.9  months of inventory based on sales (the Westerville School District)
  • Worthington - a noth Columbus suburb -  5 months of inventory based on sales (Worthington School District)

All those Central Ohio areas are in north Franklin County except Powell and Lewis Center which are Southern Delaware County,
