If you have never seen one, you need to check out a Kentucky horse farm in Lexington KY. There are beautiful horse farms for sale in Lexington and Fayette County.

Many new clients are finding us on the website, www.lizette.us and making arrangements to relocate to Kentucky. Once in Lexington, they fall in love with the ambiance of the stone walls, black plank fences, lush bluegrass fields and horses...everywhere! It's quite breathtaking to be here in person!

Lexington Kentucky is "The Horse Capital of the World."

My world has always been centered around horses, so I can understand why many buyers have a complete love for this relaxed way of life and search for horse farms for sale.

When I was about 13, my family moved to a horse farm and I finally got that first horse. I had dreamed about having one for as long as I could remember. It was a mare I called "Velvet."

Visitors are always amazed with Lexington KY and the towns like Paris, Versailles, Midway because this land where the legendary throughbreds of the race track are born on horse farms.

It has a lot to do with the soil and limestone that builds stronger bones for racing.

Horse buyers from all over the world come to Lexington KY to buy horses at the Keeneland Sales and jet them back to horse farms in other countries.

In 2010 in Lexington, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be at the Kentucky Horse Park.

This event will be the largest equestrian event ever planned in the United States and it will be the first time held outside of Europe.

Many of these Fayette County farms will be sold before this event takes place to horse lovers that plan to make Kentucky their home.

My clients usually have a Kentucky horse farm vision in mind and as we search I just know the right place is here in Lexington.

I know that they will feel it in their bones as soon as they step onto the right property.

It's like coming home to an old friend. It will fit their lifestyle perfectly.

There's a lot of work to research and buy a Kentucky horse farm that is for sale. It's not a one size fits all. Many farms are better for Thoroughbreds but some are better suited for pleasure horses.

Hi Lizette -- I stumbled across your post when I posted mine for this fun series. My daughter started horseback riding 7 years ago (she is a hunter-jumper) and horses are her lives -- and the rest of us by extension now. We took one of our vacations in Lexington a couple of years ago and had an absolute blast -- your post is so on the mark. We loved the Kentucky Horse Park, got to see Smarty Jones over at Three Rivers and many other things during our fun visit. This year, we went to Louisville and saw one of the three first time ever night racings at Churchill Downs and other fun things to do.

Chris - I know the feeling! My parents had to be a part of my love for horses. Neither of them knew how to ride... nor wanted to. They had a Kentucky Horse Farm just for me to have horses. I enjoyed them everyday for 22 years. Now I am just in the real estate side of helping others buy farms.

Hi, Liz. I live in Jamestown, Tennessee, in an equestrian community near the Big South Fork national park, which has the best trail riding east of the Mississippi. It's called "The Trail Riding Capital of the Southeast" and is a destination for trail riders. I list and sell mainly horse properties so your post caught my eye. What a wonderful job you did; I really enjoyed reading it and your pictures are a spectacular complement!
