Clark County Has A Lot to Be Proud Of! 2009 Clark County Parade of Homes

Anyone who has read a newspaper lately or watched the evening news knows that the media has been heavily preaching the "Doom and Gloom" of the real estate market. While nationally we have slowly begun to see sales rise, Clark County has shown wonderful improvement over the last six months, proving us to be one of the most resistant and more resilient markets in the nation!

We ended the month of January 2009 with 21 months of inventory. That means that if no one else were to list another home for sale, it would have taken us 21 months to sell through what was currently listed at the rate that homes had been selling. Just five months later, we concluded the month of June 2009 with only 7.9 months of inventory, the lowest since August 2007. This is exciting news for Clark County!

Our county's resistance to defeat is the exact reason why we have been able to present this fantastic 2009 Clark County Parade of Homes. Many building associations across the U.S. have had to cancel their home showcases this year because their markets could not support it. The Clark County real estate market has continued to buck those trends for another year. The houses in this year's Parade of Homes are not simply showcases for the exquisite craftsmanship of each of the builders. Each of these gorgeous homes has been custom built for the home owner. These are real homes for real families here in Clark County.

Although many who visit the Parade of Homes will not be building a home of this caliber in the near future, there are many ideas that can be taken away and applied in their own personal homes. Next time you consider remodeling or updating a feature in your home, keep in mind some of the materials that you viewed at this show. Natural materials are high in demand and are wonderful for resale. Choose energy efficient appliances and building materials when upgrading or replacing. Not only are they great for resale, but you will see immediate financial benefit on your monthly utility bills. Perhaps you will see a new design idea that you had not considered.
