Congratulations Joell and the Pine Valley community!

Joell Marchese is San Ramon Valley Unified School District's Teacher of the Year.  Joell is a science teacher at Pine Valley Middle School.  She visited  RMA and Nathan Ellis presented her with a donation for her classroom.

Joell shared her passion for the children and the classroom with us in just a few short minutes. It was evident why she is the recipient of this prestigious award.

Joell will represent the district in the Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year competition, and has already advanced to the semifinals!

May all children be so fortunate to have a mentor in their lives like Joell Marchese.

Best Wishes in the competition!!  It was truly an honor to meet you Joell! Cathy Lee

HI Jim!  We have award winning schools-great teachers, yet our school district is the second lowest funded in the state. It is really so sad-but our teachers and community partners, parents and the students make up for the lack of funds!!  Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Cathy, It's nice to hear of a teacher being recognized.  They work so hard and are so dedicated.

Hello Carole and Russell! Teachers need to be recognized and supported more often. They are overworked and underpaid. Children are our future. Thanks for stopping by!!

I agree Cathy, teachers work so darn hard, have to pay for supplies from their own pockets at times and we  know dealing w/ a class of children can be quite challenging at times;)

My super sister-in-law is a teacher and I know how hard she toils at her job!!!

Kudos to Joell!

Congratulations to Joell. I'm confused, though. Who is Nathan Ellis, why did Joell visit the Real Estate Marketing Association, and why does Wells Fargo Home Mortgage have a sign in the picture?

Let me explain our weekly meetings. WE have a boardof directors and Nate is our President. We have monthly room sponsors as we have fees for our breakfast and room and Wells Fargo Home Loans was the sponsor this month. We invited Joell to honor her and we gave her a donation for her classroom. Each week the Realtors present their new listings to the agents and affiliates and they present their buyers and sellers "needs and wants" at this meeting. We have three in my local area and I attend them each week. I am on the board as secretary. Thanks for stopping by Jim!!!

I was talking to a younger friend yesterday that had just got his Masters and was teaching.  Ok, he's 25, but still young.  It's really sad teachers don't get more respect and acknowledgement for what they do.  This is great that there are people that still care about children's future.
