Visiting Fowler Park and Fowler Lake in Oconomowoc,Wisconsin; part of the Waukesha County Life

The City of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is truly a beautiful city; it literally has everything that makes a great city enjoyable; a clean and wonderful atmosphere, a wide range of restaurants and shops that require many visits back to thoroughly enjoy them, and amazing people; lots of amazing people. One thing that is very unique to Oconomowoc  is the fact that it is has picturesque and beautiful lakes within your eye site and seconds a way. Lac La Belle is a Lake that is charming by all definitions. Fowler Lake is smaller but equally charming and the City Park known as Fowler Park is a gem. They have movies in the park some nights in Fowler park. Thursday all the activity was moved to downtown Oconomowoc where the streets where closed to celebrate the 70 year anniversary of the movie The Wizard of Oz. Oconomowoc played a large roll in the filming and production of The Wizard of Oz

.

Thursday was a beautiful day in the Waukesha County Life and the sun was very productive in it's delivery of thermo-kinetic energy. As a result I grab my portfolio and head off to sit in the park, next to the lake, and wait for the sunset to arrive. The fish may have not have been biting as much as they should have but it saved Spencer having to clean them for a long time. Hours go by when you can enjoy a park like this and the water was absolutely pristine and sterling as can be. gaggles of ducks were following their mom on the water, and the ripple effect of the water with the sun on it was nature's hypnotic effect in motion. For that brief moment I am able to sit back, reflect on all the good in life, and smile a little more.

Tom,

Beautiful pictures, I love lakes, parks and sunsets. Nice mentioning the 'Wizardf OZ', I didn't know it was filmed there, very cool.

Tombo,

this post brought a smile to my face...thankyou. ((-:

Only you would think to post a video of Dorothy singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow and watching it brought a peaceful feeling; especially with little Toto lifting his paw over and over wanting nothing more than just to please...

I'm thinking that today I should find a nice park bench by the water somewhere and reflect on life, once I'm finished with my appointments, just like you've written so beautifully about in this post....somehow being near water always helps give a clearer perspective on things.

Got to love that message Dorothy brings; I wish I could sit on that park bench one day and catch up on life. Totot had the commitment to hang in there with Dorothy, even if it did require a journey.

Wow, your little corner of the world is packed with little interesting factoids! wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorite movies, as it is for millions of others no doubt, and I can't imagine what it was like to see it when it first came out, since there were no special effects like todays, to compare it to!

It really is, it was nuts in downtown Oconomowoc that night. Sitting on a lake with my son is priceless.
