Summer festivals continue in abundance in coastal North San Diego County, with the Encinitas Taste of Mainstreet coming soon.

Downtown Encinitas California along Mainstreet/Route 101August 27th is the day for the 20th annual Encinitas Taste of Mainstreet International food festival being held in the downtown area from Jamroc (a Jamaican Restaurant just north of Encinitas Boulevard on the Coast Road/Route 101) to Swami's Café at the far south end of town just before...you guessed...Swami's Beach, famous for its' surfing.

With over 40 restaurants of varying sorts in this stretch of historic 101, foodies are blessed with the opportunity to enjoy a wealth of food styles, as well as live cooking demos, music performances in 6 locations, and you can enjoy full meals at most of the restaurants even if you decide to not participate in the Encinitas Taste of Mainstreet International Food Festival.

Gateway to Downtown Encinitas California along Mainstreet/Route 101There will also be a wine tasting at the 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro from 6 - 9 PM with funds used for a permanent public sculpture the DEMA (Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet Association) is installing. Two tastes are just $5.

Tickets, which are $25, can be purchased on-line at the Encinitas 101 website using the good ol' credit card. Or if you prefer, stop by the Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet Association (DEMA) office, the host, at 818 S. Coast Highway 101.

The Encinitas Taste of Mainstreet in Encinitas California has become very popular and is one of the larger events of this kind in San Diego County.  Foodies - your time has come!! If I weren't going to be on a plane to Phoenix for a 3-day CRS leadership conference, you KNOW I would be there, foodie that I am, stuffing my face.

Jeff, we also have an annual event like this here in Middletown, but I have not heard a date for this year, and your blog reminds me that I should call the Chamber of Commerce to find out when they will be doing it.  It is one of my favorite events, because I like to try the different foods.  Hope you get to go to yours!!!

Well, Hey if all it takes is a taste of the town to get our friends in Orange to come down then we need to do more tastes. This looks like something I should go to. I haven't set foot in that community since my last sale there a number of years ago. This might be a great place to meet shop owners and the community builders. And I am really in the mood for a wine tasting-bet it would be fun.

It was great to see you yesterday. You guessed it, I wrote a post and it ain't done. I need a good slide show and the Gif thingy doesn't work. Where are all the good resources when you need them, lol. Here is a special picture from my blog that I haven't finished along with a bucket load of others, :-). I got some extraordinary pictures yesterday and I can't wait for you to see them.

Good heavens.. 40 restaurants? I have to go to Asheville to eat exotic food but it's not a long drive at all and worth it when you want something different. I'd live in spandex if I had 40 restaurants in one spot here!

Eric - I can understand that. I feel the same about Boston.

George - I have learned about many places around the US doing this sort of thing, too. Don;t miss out - do your homework, then you can write about it so others will know.

Donna - ha ha. Come on out. I'll buy your ticket (the Taste ticket, not the plane LOL)

Hannah - I think you are just going to have to come out to enjoy a taste of California living! The weather is fabulous right now.

Lynda - eat some for me if you come down! Too bad Marlene and I will be at the CRS meetings in Phoenix.

William - you crack me up - Roberta - LOVE the "glasses" A bit of horsing around I see.

Terry and Bonnie - I was hoping to be able to go this year but it's not to be. Netx time perhaps. There are a bunch of places in that part of town I have not explored.

Bill - yep, it's pretty impressive. You can eat your way from one end of town to the other, all withing walking distance. And just 3 blocks from the beach.

Susie - whatever works, right? :)
