I'm sorry but you have the wrong number, but I'm happy you called is something I've said twice this week to people that called my phone number by mistake. Each caller was looking for Schmidt's & Serafines, a Waterbury, Ct hardware store that I featured on Aug 5 as one of my neighborhood business in Bob Stewart's challenge.

In the original post, I had erroneously left out the phone number for the store. Obviously somebody seeking info on the store online called the only number that was originally posted, which was my phone number.

Thanks AR for presenting this challenge which gave the store some online presence, probably better than we could have expected. The results are equally as good for my other, career real estate because I do get calls from my posts and this will generate business.

Thanks AR for making my phone ring!

Isn't it crazy?  I have been doing neighborhood localism posts since Feb 2007 and a week doesn't go by that someone is calling me because I am the "HOA"

HI Ed, I agree with you about wrong numbers. I always ask how do they know they have a wrong number, they may just be looking for something that I can help them with. They generally are looking for something and I point them in the right direction. They remember me and I have done my good deed for the day. Karma is a wonderful thing. If you keep putting it out there, it always comes back sooner than later.

I get lots of calls from various localism posts.  Pancake breakfast,,,what time.  HOA.... can you send the documents.  It is fun to know that our posts can out rank the actual business site.

Ed, you should stop by the store and ask them for a commission on the phone calls, or at least be put on the payroll as a part time employee ....... LOL

These Posts do get results.

Renee, Go figure this stuff really works!

Michelle, Karma is a good thing. It's the story of what goes around comes around. With my mischief, when it comes around, it's going to be doing about 100 mph.

Cindy, right about now, I believe I am the business site.

George, I don't need t be put on the payroll, just give me the employee discount.

Ed - This is an interesting side effect to writing hyper-local posts.  Like some of the others, I get calls about HOAs, restrictions etc.  My favorite calls start off, "Are you open?"

I know. I got a call a couple of weeks ago from someone wanting to make a reservation on a gazabo at a local park that I talked about.

Hi Ed! Ya know this reminds me I have to get busy and do more local posts, so thank you for the reminder. It's seems you are getting great exposure from this that's fantastic. LOL@ Michelle's statement, knowing her I have no doubt she does that.
