Parents of the Buyer Feedback ... Priceless!

The other day I was meeting the furniture rental pickup truck at one of my staged homes in Fort Worth TX that just sold. I'd loaded the last few plants and a table into my car and was waiting for the knock on the door.

Well the knock came, but in walked the mother and father of the new buyer. They were there to measure and help her get a jump on moving into her new home.

The mother said she was delighted to meet me as they had enjoyed seeing how I had furnished and accessorized this beautiful townhome.

She made special mention of the fact that seeing the staged home photos really made a difference. Her daughter, while browsing online had seen the photo of the kitchen and said "Mom come and look at these flowers!". The vase was on the island where she hopes to make cookies with her girlfriends in the hoidays, so it was definitely an emotional touchpoint for her.

It was so nice to get that feedback. To hear how a buyer responds to what you do and to know it does make a difference. Now the seller is happy, the realtors are happy and of course the buyer has found a new home she can make memories in! It feels good!

Tessa ~ that's a beautiful kitchen and your staging made the buyer want to move right in! I've been lucky to have met several buyers of homes that I've staged -- and was honored when asked to help with their furniture placement & hanging of art when they moved in. You're right -- that kind of feedback is priceless!

No matter how much the buyer thinks they're shopping with their brain, they're shopping with their emotions. Something, somewhere says "home" to them and - bingo! - it's sold.

I have had that happen and it is fantastic. We often forget to promote how much home staging is of value to the buyers!

Sharon - it did make my day. At the time I was juggling several different things but I realize it was really a blessing that they showed up when they did!

Michelle - It absolutely does make a difference. I was recently doing some CMA comparison for an investment property and without exception, every home that had sold for the most per sq ft was beautifully photographed and presented.

It is a beautiful kitchen Maureen and I felt honored to be able to make it shine even more. I deliberately chose a few large pops of color to contrast against the neutral background. Thanks for the reminder to market my "after" services! Glad you've been able to!

Well Karen of all the ways we think to promote staging here on AR, it doesn't compare to hearing it first hand from a Buyer. Because let's face it that's who we are doing it all for.

I hope we all get to hear this kind of feedback at least once in a while - makes it all worth while :)
