That's very interesting. Do you know what kind of butterfly/moth that is?
I am not sure what kind it is - I have very limited butterfly knowledge. I have a flowering plant in front of my house that is practically swarmed with bees, butterflies, etc. I have a few other butterfly/moth pics but am waiting for a better one if I share more.
Hi Steve,
What a great shot that you captured of the butterfly! It looks like it could be a Monarch Butterfly! You probably have a butterfly bush in front of your home. Bees and butterflies are attracted to them. Thank you for sharing!
Rita
Your new friend? So has it taken up residence in your yard? =) I found a dead one =( on a walk one time, that was perfectly preserved. So I brought it home with me. I have it in a little box since I don't know the proper way to put them on display. But it's color has faded =( It's too bad they don't have a longer life span. I love so many things found in nature.
What a great photo! I love butterfly pictures and my daughter is a big butterfly fan...keep the photos coming!
Rita - It isn't a butterfly bush - because I thought of buying one of them as well. But it might as well be.
Lisa - Some people's full time job is preserving and dsiplaying butterflies. I have no clue of course about that.
Sharon - WIll do - thanks!
Steve,
Very nice action shot of your butterfly. Looks like a relative of our swallowtails. :)
Steve
Steve - I've been keeping an eye out for them - I had another come by yesterday that was aseome - pictures were only ok though.
Hi Steve ~ My daughter (The avid reader) told me a couple of weeks ago that once a butterfly (say blooms) it only lives (can't remember if she said) 24 or 48 hrs. Need to Google this. If it is true, be blessed that you caught it in it's prime.
