Christina Salway and John Moskowitz bought a property in Sparrow Bush, NY, for less than $100,000. The corky cottage was a fixer upper. Neither of the two, had any experience with renovations or construction, but they tackled most of the construction on their own with $10,000 as their budget and less than $3,000 for their decorating expenses. New owners aquired most of their "treasures" i.e. appliances, furniture etc. through Craigslist, yard sales, on the street, and through family. Who says you need to spend a fortune when it comes to renovations and design...just need a little creativity and a lot of hardwork.
When I hear of stories such as this one, it makes me a believer that nothing is impossible, as long as you put your mind to it. To read more about the article, please click here.
