Happy Birthday AR!!!!!!

I just got back from the AR bash in Long Beach, Ca..........I have to say, that, as I was driving out there tonight I kept thinking....ok, is this going to be weird? Not even close!

What's great is that I had the priviledge of meeting so many wonderful people, not the lease of which was Jeff Turner and his lovely wife! (Not to take away from TLW, who, by the way, was there in spirit along with Broker Bryant,you'll see many pictures from other sources, I'm sure).

I also had the opportunity to meet with Matt Heaton and Jonathan Washburn, who are truly exceptional individuals!

I do have to say, however, that I felt slightly left out as many people whipped out their Kodak Easyshare V705 to take pictures! From what I could see it is truly a wonderful camera! Nice pick Jeff!

Overall an excellent way to spend a Saturday night!

Jeff, thank you for hosting this wonderful event and for your candor and insights!

Also a heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful people I met tonight who truly felt like family by the end of the evening!

I can hardly read this post.. I am so bummed that I missed the event. I promise I won't miss the next event. I'm glad to hear you met some great people. Just think what a wonderful resource it is for you to be able to lean on colleagues such as the people you met tonight.

We live and work in such a competitve world, yet when in the company of AR all that goes away and there's a genuine willingness to share information that will help make you more succesful. No strings attached.

Thats the beauty of this whole thing and perhaps this is why you thought it might be weird at first. You know going out with a bunch of strangers that you met online -- weird right?? I'm sure that feeling only lasted 30 seconds.

Ana, I've only met 2 people from Active Rain in person and before I went in to meet them I was feeling the same way...uh oh, what if they don't like me? What if we run out of things to say? What if? What if? It was all for naught. They were just as real as they had been in person and I am looking forward to meeting more. Glad to hear you had a good time.

I got up bright and early so I could read all about what a great time Blog Boy (Broker Bryant) and I had last night.

I'm feeling a little under the weather today...Must be from all that vicarious drinking I did. LOL.

Y'all looked like you had such a GREAT time. I mean really you can see the happiness on all of the posts. I am having a BLAST reading all of them.

Ana - it was so cool to meet you, even though the time was brief. Seems your sentiments echoes many - concerns about what it would be like to go to such an event but then finding that it is an amazing experience. So many great people, but so hard to meet and talk to everyone.
