Community canine areas, commonly known as dog parks.  Arlington along with Alexandria Virginia are definitely dog friendly communities. You will see many Arlingtonian’s taking an morning or evening stroll with the family dog.  In many Arlington and Alexandria retails areas, retail stores will supply water and dog treats outside the store for fido to enjoy whilst the owner looks around.

Although most homes in Arlington County are fortunate enough to have a garden, there are still many community canine areas for owner & dog to go and socialize with others.  Most of these dog parks are open from sunrise to an hour after sunset.  There are even a few which are lit after dark.  A majority of these dog parks are fenced in, which allows the owner to relax and know that their furry friend can play off leash with other dogs in a safe environment.
