Excerpts from a Cat's Diary
Day 983 of my captivity...
~My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed
hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the
rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to
keep up my strength. ~The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of
escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet.
I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly
demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made
condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. %^$##!
~There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was
placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I
could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my
confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this
means, and how to use it to my advantage.
~Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my
tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this
again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.
~The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and
seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The
bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the
guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

Funny...probably true from a cat's perspective.  Dogs do like to do anything and be happy doing it. Why can't people be like that?

Ohmygosh, I am laughing my head off, I had a cat who was the one this was written about... I swear, he was devious.  Dogs are delightful and so forgiving and loving when given the chance.  Thanks for the laughs Shirley!

One more thing to add to the Dog Diary...I enjoyed chewing up something today..I have a dog and she seems to destroy a toy or a sock or whatever she can wrap her lips around.  This post was a good laugh and a great start to my morning this morning.

Shirley - That is so hilarious but true.  I think it is a little like the "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus thing."  Dogs like men are more simple beings. . .Women on the other hand, are a little more complicated:-)

Hey Shirley I chuckled all the way thru the cat monologue - so funny!  I must share this with my husband as it's 'his' cat and it sounds just like the little critter.  Too darn funny!  Thanks for the Friday smiles!

Gary, That would be great!

Gail, Dogs are generally "sweeter" than cats.

Mike, I like both but I like dogs better....

Bob, You are very welcome!

April, Thanks.  My dog is out of the chewing stage, thank goodness.

Myrl, Good analogy!

Cute, I do think this may be an accurate picture of dogs and cats and how they think.

Marci likes to escape outside for a bit to see what she can kill.  But when her tummy starts talking its time to go inside.  She is 80% indoor cat.

My dog gets excited when I take her on a ride in the car...100 feet down the driveway to get the mail. Not exactly gas efficient, but it makes her day!
