Only two hours east of Las Vegas Nevada on I-15 is the Beautiful town/ city of Saint George, right on the very south West tip of Utah.

We went for a short ride on the Harley Sunday afternoon and it was beautiful, with cooler temperatures.

Saint George has been rated between 2-3 number one places to retire in the entire United States. And if you have ever been to Saint George you would understand why!

It is very difficult to take photographs when your riding motorcycle because when you drive by a beautiful scene you have to pull the bike over jump off and pull the camera out of the bags, etc.

I did the best I could and a friend that I was with started to get bothered because he kept having to pull over every time Vegas Bob stopped. He had an expensive camera also, it should have been a good learning experience for him.

The area where we were riding is about 10-15 mlies North & North East of Saint Geoge and the colors around most of Souther Utah is breath-taking!

If I were to only work part time I would probably live in Saint George because it is only a two hour drive from Las Vegas, give or take several minutes and it's cooler, cleaner, smaller, and such a refreshing town/ city, the people are wonderful.

And just take a look at this red/ orange rock in the photo (above & below), this stuff is every where and it is so beautiful and more breath-taking in person.

Below is a wild flower that grows all over Saint George, does anyone know the name of this flower (below)?

Vegas Bob,

I can see from the map that Saint George is along the Las Vegas to Red Lodge route.  Thank you for all the stops and the beautiful photos you took along the road to Saint George!   You may have bothered your friend with all the stops but you should have lots of pleased AR members like me.  :)

I think that flower may be an angel's trumpet.  It resembles a ginormous morning glory and it is extremely poisonous from what I understand.  I ride my (manual) bike the mountain in Zion and they are laced along the trail growing wild.  Last time we encountered a rattler :shudder:  Gorgeous country and no wonder why it is named "Zion"

Reneé is pretty close with her guess on the flower. That in your picture is Datura inoxia, also called jimson weed. It is related to the angel's trumpet that Reneé guessed, both being in the Datura family. Don't think I'm Russel, though. I know very few plants, and I only know this one because we have several growing on our property. Not only are they poisonous, but they also are skin irritants. However, they have a very fragrant smell during the night, almost intoxicating.
