A Whole Different kind of Septic System Sullivan County New Hampshire Accompany Series Post 1. This post is the first of this series to accompany, the main series of a blogging challenge. By ActiveRain to the members of ActiveRain Real Estate Networking community.

If your using or you have read the main series, thalking about using a Composting Toilet System. You just my be tihnking, what do you do with the end-produci of it. You'll find the finished humus has the consistency of leaves that have been compoted, and should have an earthy smell to it, but not offensive.

Humus Composte

Humus

You'll want to check the rules of your State, seen that most States do require sending it to a treatment facility or burying it under at least 12 inches of soil, it idealy best to put it within the root zone of non-edible plants that can use the nutrients. There has been many users have placed the composted material out side in a pile to finish composting, and add more mulch and yard waste.

A Whole Different kind of Septic System Sullivan County New Hampshire Accompany Series Post 1, some composting toilet owner operators use their compost on their edible vegetable gardens.

Septic System

If no one in your family is sick who used the composting toilet, it's very unlikely that pathogens will be a problem. But its a better rule of thumb not to use it on edibles. There sure are plenty of non-edible plants in any garden that you have, that sure will be mighty grateful for the compost.

Now if any leachate is drained from composters, it must by law, either be disposed of in a septic tank, or removed by a septage hauler, or taken to a treatment plant for further treatment. Some innovative systems combine it with graywater for use in subsurace irrigation of their plants.

Hope y'all have enjoyed readibng thses two series, as must as I've enjoyed writing them for you to read.

I'll be starting a new series tomorrow Wed. 19 Aug.

Dale: You spread that on your lawn and it will grow like crazy. You are right you do have to adhere to the laws of each individual state. The environmental laws over here in Texas are very strict about what you can and can not do.

It sure will help make your lawn grow like crazy. Folks sure don't want to be break-en any environmental laws. It can just get way to costly.

Dale

Is that your hand in the photo holding the " finished product?" Always be careful with this type compost. It has been determined if you have any abrasions or cuts that there are still some serious bacteria in the compost that could go to work on us. A frien of mine almost lost his foot as a result of his compost.

Dale I'm late getting here. You sure did a good series. I don't know that I would want to spread it on our lawn since the kids go barefooted during the summer  here at Canyon Lake. I would want them to have any problems. It would be a good fertilizer for sure.
