Hi everyone,

I have to say right now that I am pretty excited by this community.  I found this place by just looking to create some directory links on my website.  I thought I was internet savvy but I didn't ever do much about organic search. I always went the pay per click way.

Anyway, as I started to worry about getting organic, I found this place and what a delightful surprise! There are some great resources on people on here.  And I learn something each time I log on.  However, the downside is I am getting more, not less, confused on SEO.

I am actually frozen a bit now because I hear the Recip links = not good and other placed = good.  What to do? I also am in the middle of searching for SEO software and wondered if any of you could recommend one. Essentially, I want something to track my positioning in the search engines for specific keywords while analyzing my site and making suggestions.

Does anyone use some of the software out there and how helpful has it been?  Also, is it worth it to work on getting other agents to link to me and I to them from out individual link pages?

I know I am asking a lot.  I just hate being frozen on what to do.  I am reading like a demon but so much advice seems to directly conflict with other advice, both credible.
