Every once in a while you come across a real bargain and a while back I did and I thought that I would share it with you. If you live near Arnold, Missouri and need to wash your car you should check out the old car wash on Tenbrook Road just off of Jeffco Blvd.
It might not look like much, but I've been going there for over a year now and the equipment has always worked well and they have an abundance of cycles to clean your car with. Most importantly, you get a generous amount of time to wash your car for the money.
Yesterday I drove from my home in Oakville, Missouri (did I tell you that I really liked this car wash?) to this car wash to wash "Kathy's Big Red Truck". The front wheels were pretty much covered in the gunk that I guess comes off of the break pads and it had been parked under the tree in our front yard which is secreting sap, so it was covered. Plus, the birds in the neighborhood had used it for target practice. It was a mess!
I fed the machine 5, $1.00 tokens (the change machine gives out tokens instead of quarters, so you might want to bring some quarters with you) and started with the wheel and tire cleaner. I sprayed the wheels and let them soak while I sprayed the rest of the truck with the pre-soak, which went to work on the bird doo.
I then used the high pressure wash to get the major grime off of it. I then switched to the foaming brush and brushed the entire truck, including the wheels. After the high pressure rinse, I sprayed it with the high pressure wax. A quick rinse and then I sprayed it with the foaming wax. Another high pressure rinse, then I went over it with the spot-free rinse.
The trucked glistened! I air dried the truck by driving it down the highway and when we got to South City and got
out to put up some yard signs, there wasn't a spot to be found on it. Kathy's Big Red Truck looked like it was ready for the auto show!
I wish that I could remember the name of this car wash. I talked with the owner, who seemed like a really nice guy. He told me that he had owned the car wash for something like 25 years and that he worked hard to keep the equipment running in tip top condition. I told him that his car wash was my favorite in town. It was actually better than washing the vehicles, especially the truck, at home.
So, if you're in the Arnold, Missouri area and need to wash your vehicle, I would definately recommend this car wash to you.
