I found a new adventure that you may want to consider.  If you are like me, you like going on day hikes but do not like carrying things (like a pack).  I saw this article on Evening Magazine on King5.com, "Have a Llama Help You Hike" and found it very appealing.   I thought it would be great activity for families to do together or for some women, instead of a "girl's night out" it would be a hike out!  I would like to know if any of you have participated in this.

If you go to the first link you can watch a 5 min. video about people being able to see the back country in a completely different way.  You can also go straight to Deli Llama Wilderness Adventures for their own website.  Here is some of what they offer:

"In Spring and Fall Deli Llama offers day picnics and 1-3 day training treks and  Packing Clinics .   It is an introduction to our services and an opportunity to explore the world of Llamas and how to outfit, train and enjoy Llamas for Packing.

"Deli Llama offers Wilderness Adventures in Washington State. Our Treks are Custom Designed for groups of 6-10 persons for 4-7 days. From May through September we travel into the high country of the North Cascades National Park, the Northeastern Cascade Pasayten Wilderness, and the rainforest valleys and alpine highlands of the Olympic National Park."

Deli Llama also offers Special Interest Treks. We have led Men's Treks, Women's Treks, Tai Chi Treks, "Rendezvous at Gender Gap" and "Point of View" Trainings."

I would like to know if any of you have participated in this.

That is a pretty awesome blog. Thank you for sharing that and next time I take a big hike I'll make sure to keep that in mind. Thanks Leslie.

Sounds like a lot of fun, but unfortunately I do not live in the Seattle area. But if I am ever in the neighborhood, I will definitely contact Deli Llama for a tour.

Thanks!
