Just a hop, skip, and a jump from your Mission Valley condo is downtown San Diego, a vibrant area of restaurants, dinner cruises, boating, big daddy cruises, wildlife, more San Diego condos, trains, hotels, the Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter, and more.
Of course, anywhere you have the public, it seems to be a requisite that there be public art. Sometimes it's controversial, but in all cases, it usually causes one to pause and think. Sometimes we think, "Why?" but nonetheless.
Following is a slide show of a lot of the public art along Embarcadero South and Embarcadero North in downtown San Diego along the harbor.

Jim, what a fun idea for showcasing the public art along the San Diego Harbor just down from Mission Valley condos! BTW, does your cat charge royalties? And who is his agent anyway? lol
Jim, I love the abstract art of San Diego. Did you know there is a children's museum there...the kids actually get to throw paint on a real car....I remember my kids loving that activity.
Hey, Sharon - Zoey the Cool Cat does, indeed, charge royalties, but she accepts payment via pooper scooping. Fortunately, my marketing guru is the one who pays the royalties. Zoey the Cool Cat pays me with love, tummy rubbing, lap sitting, and head butting.
Hey, Andrea - I'm split about 50/50 on public art, but it does make me stop and look at it.
Hey, Jenny - Remember that the 2009 NAR Convention is here in San Diego in November, so you can just zip on down here and see them for yourself!
Hey, Jane - I think they did away with the kids throwing paint on a real car interactive exhibit. Probably some parent sued them for not warning the parents that the kids would get paint on their clothes. I think Russel did a post on the Children's Museum DREAM sculptures a couple of months ago.
Excellent slide show. You have convinced me San Diego is a great place to be. Beautiful weather, interesting places to visit. I'll have to go explore San Diego one day! I'm going to need a tour guide!
