LOST Contracts and Friendly Voices

Surely, we have to go above and beyond in trying to help those from going through a foreclosure. The work is hard and tedious although we struggle through the MANY curveballs a short sale will surely have through the process.

Two contracts come in for two different short sale listings and are accepted by the sellers. Two short sale packets are submitted to the lender for each property. BOTH contracts and short sale packets are ‘lost' through the first submission and the second packet was ‘lost' twice. I'd just about had it but know it's in everyone's best interest (including to keep my own sanity) to keep my cool.

I finally get through and speak with a compassionate individual who says, "Here's my email address...I'll make sure it gets in our system".

Isn't it the compassion from all sides that make it all worthwhile?

Sis - Compassion can certainly go a long way in Real Estate & in Life. I also believe it to be a nice combatant to insanity.

It only takes that one little sliver of light to make the dark seem not so bad after all. We deal with a lot on this business, but when you get that one helping hand, it does make it worth all the effort.

WooHoo, Save the email connection. They are priceless in the short sale buisness. I have a nice lady at BofA that will accept all of my packages via email. It knocks several weeks off the process.

You struck gold..a compassionate, caring person at a lender. I am so impressed.

Sally--Sometimes keeping your cool will allow things to fall into place...that is all you can do. Hopefully it will work out for your clients. :)

Thinking outside the box accomplishes alot even when it has to be done a certain way.

Sometimes it's hard to stay calm when everything seems to be going wrong, but it does make dealing with problems easier if you can remove yourself from the emotions.

Sally... I agree with Jason's comment... yet, stuff like this ticks me off, when people lose stuff. Sure, we are human.. but twice? And some people just don't care as much.

On another note... I like the new picture. Not sure when you changed it, but I haven't been on since Saturday... and haven't been on much previous to that. I like it...

Celeste, I happen to be on Vacation in Oahu and went to the 24 hours Gym by your office. I walked in by a Century 21 office, and your business card was right at the front. THey were all so friendly.

It pays to be persistant and to have a positive attitude inspite of the difficulties. I try to take a minute to focus on the idea that the person you are reaching out to is most propbably not the one who created the problem or if they did they were not aware of the problem they were causing. It helps me to "talk nice" Congratualtions on getting what you needed done!

Sally, Wouldn't it be wonderful if more people were like that? I don't understand why they aren't or what happened to plain common courtesy and helpfulness.

Hi Sally - Your compassionate person must have heard the desperation sneaking through your niceness. Actually I've found that being polite and "understanding" when people are incompetent usually gets them to go the extra mile to make up for their mistakes. Keeping your cool got the job done.
