Tax Free Weekend - Tax Holiday in Texas

Tax Free Weekend - Texas

The highly anticipated Tax Free Weekend in Texas is upon us. Starting tomorrow, Friday August 21st through Sunday August 23rd, shoppers will get a break from all state and local taxes on select items.

Texans know Tax Free Weekend as a chance to save money on common Back to School items including clothing and footwear priced under $100. This usually saves $8 to every $100 spent on applicable items. Tax Free Weekend also includes backpacks (defined as a pack with straps) as well as school supplies. Coming into effect this weekend, school supplies priced less than $100 are tax exempt as well. Another benefit? Lay-away plans can be used again this year.

Here is a List of Tax Free Clothing, Footwear and Backpacks...

It's only $8.25 if you spend $100, but I love that the stores give the deep discounts in addition so it makes it seem like a lot more.
