Susan, it's only another day. I've already seen that one. The days seem to go by faster after that.
Age it totally irrelevant especially when we are older than the real 39. There is birth and death and the part in between is all good. But I do know that many of us would like re-live parts of our lives again ( this time getting it right). But I fully understand that if we actually did have a chance to re-live some part of our life, we would do exactly the same things all over again. Because it is who we are or more correctly who we have become. My take on this is that with all the new technology, I would be so much farther ahead and the learning curve is at least easier when one can actually stay awake and pay attention, lol.
Gary,
Dick and Dixie have stolen my line. All I know that in my scale 50 is being young, and Susan is young. She is even panics like a young girl. Isn't that wonderful?
The older I get, the more I think that the age '50' is not that old. Its just a number, right? happy Birthday (a little early)
Hey Gary...I also believe that you must keep the sense of humor or just fade away. I don't see my age as a handicap, but I know many who do!
Susan- Do something exceptional for yourself to celebrate your entrance into the Prime Time of life. Yes it is a landmark birthday- so make the most of it- LIVE LAUGH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY LOVE your family and friends! Enjoy!
Gary, This post is really nice of you!
Susan, First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I had a hard time turning 49 because I KNEW my option for the coming year would be to turn 50 OR....Let's just say I was happy to turn 50 :) I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks everyone. You are all right. The alternative to my turning 50 would be not being here, on this earth, enjoying everything that I love. And, Dixie, I can't wait for grandchildren!! My oldest is 20 and I told him that if I am not a grandmother by 60, I am adopting grandchildren! Thanks for all of these well wishes. It's making my day. xxoo
Gary: How nice of you to look out for you friends.
Susan: You've already been here for fifty years. The birthday is just the celebration of the anniversary. Now that I've thrown you in the deep end of the mental pool, and brought your stomach into your throat.... I am a big believer in every year being better than the last. I'm facing 40 next year and really haven't batted an eyelash. It's a number. I guess I have always viewed age a little differently than most. When my Mom was 55, I was turning 16. 50's were the age of my Mom when I was a teenager. Have a huge party for yourself. Something to look forward to. Focus on the party.
When you have shuffled around this planet as long as I have you always find it humorous when folks fret over their 50th birthday. However, I remember being in bed for 4 days crying during my 40th birthday, but I sailed through my 50th birthday. BUT age has its benefits. . .I don't remember my 60th birthday at all:-) Dementia and Alzheimers can truly be a wonderful thing:-)
Age is relative, and laughing with relatives and friends keeps us young and makes the time pass faster than we like. Enjoy every minute and remember 50 is the new 40! Live it up my friend!!
;)
Great post Gary and Happy Birthday Susan! Find someone to buy you a couple bottles of red wine and you'll forget all about the number :)
Susan,
Hey...I have been there..done that....went it to get my driver's license renewed (in our state it is every 4 years)...got me thinking...I wonder how many times I will still be able to renew before they pull my license....LOL..
Anyway, the time has come and gone and you know what...what a relief....I am loving 50...you will too!
Just popping back over to say thank you again!! I'm getting the hang of this 50th birthday and by 9/3, I should be okay to deal with it! lol!
"Happy Birthday" Susan and you don't look a day over 35 years of age, keep doing what your doing to look so young!
And I have featured this post about you at one of my favorite groups ............. HAPPY AT ACTIVERAIN
PS - Sorry I was so late with my comment!
Gary....I can totally relate to Susan as I near that number..(Can't even say it yet LOL). Susan, from what I gather you're full of life, energetic and you look amazing. Embrace your coming birthday and celebrate. You're wonderful!
Thanks again everyone. I am off to bed, but couldn't resist coming to say thanks again after Robert and Olga's nice words!
I hope you see Susan how loved you are and this crossing the line into the next decade is nothing to fear. Personally I think your best days are ahead of you...
Gary,
This whole conversation sounds like a George Carlin skit. Susan, you look great, regardless of your age. It's a number-get over it. You look great!
Susan, your day has arrived at last. Happy Birthday. Can you feel the love???
