When If Ever Should You Form A Real Estate Team

In this episode, Tim Harris, Brian Wilson and I talk about the pro's and con's of real estate teams. What is a Team? When should you form a Team? When is forming a Team a bad idea. What are the pitfalls? What are alternate ways to increase production without the hassel and expense of creating a team. The show's about an hour long. Click on the start arrow located in middle of the player below and the show will start. Then you can launch a new window, continue with your work and listen to it in the background. Let me know what you think? Cheers.

Tough question in today's economic climate.  Number 1 priority for team leaders in this economy is to avoid fixed overhead costs!

Our company discourages teams because the individual can make more commission on their own. However, teams can provide exposure and strength.  Good question.  I look forward to listening to the interview.

Looks like I need to bookmark this and come back to listen later when time. I know some of the pitfalls already, but it will be interesting to hear both pro and con's.

This is a great question.  I have always been solo as an agent.  I have seen teams that are huge and the owners make good $$$.  I have also seen teams struggling because of the overhead and the lack of good management.  If you know how to manage a big team and can juggle the daily facets that come with the territory, why not?  If you are not making money with a team, perhaps the best option is to go solo.  I think small teams of two to three are a good idea when the team members have different strengths and the sum is greater than the individual parts.  I'll listen up to your show...

Ken, I will listen to this in a little while.  Real Estate teams can be great, or they can be awful.  Personalities, cooperation, pre-defined rules etc, etc.

Ken,

There are pros and cons, depending on your perspective.  But in my opinion, if the team is set up properly, all members will thrive and thus the team will thrive.

Thanks for sharing,
