Herberger Theater Center
The Herberger Theater Center was conceived as a pivotal piece in the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Phoenix. Built in 1989 to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix as a performance venue and arts incubator, the Herberger Theater Center has contributed to the cultural and educational development of the Valley. Phoenix Public Library
Burton Barr is located on Central Avenue just south of McDowell road. Please see the Valley Metro website for public transportation routes serving the Burton Barr Library. The first floor houses a New Book area; the audio-visual, international languages and fiction collections; a 10,000 square foot Children's Section with its own Story Room; a new auditorium; and, the nationally acclaimed Special Needs Center with its adapted computer equipment, resources and Large Print materials. The Library also offers a fully integrated Spanish collection for adults and children. Materials include fiction and nonfiction books, paperbacks, a reference collection, videos and audio cassettes, with ESL (English as a Second language) materials housed in a quiet corner of the library.

Chase Ball Field
Opening in 1998, Chase Field was the first stadium ever built to have a retractable roof and natural grass. With MLB's announcement that Phoenix would be awarded an expansion team, a new stadium was built. Shaped like a massive airport hanger, construction on the stadium began November 16, 1995. Originally the stadium was known as Bank One Ballpark. The ballpark was renamed Chase Field in September 2005 after the merger between Bank One and JP Morgan Chase. Not just a regular stadium was built, but a retractable roof stadium, because of the desert heat. It became the first stadium with natural grass and a retractable roof that closes in five minutes, with air conditioning. After the first week of May, many games are played with the roof closed.

U·S Airways Center
With soaring glass walls, a 12x20 foot video screen and over 14,000 square feet of indoor space, the new Pavilion creates a grand entrance to the "all-new" U·S Airways Center that leaves a lasting impression on all guests. A uniquely flexible indoor/outdoor venue, the Bud Light PASEO features state-of-the-art sound and projection systems, as well as a stylish bar area and facilities for full stage shows.

The Irish Cultural Center
Ask any visitor why he or she comes to the Irish Cultural Center. You are likely to hear about fiddle lessons or ceili dancing, concerts or exhibits, or the great-grandmother who came to America from Ireland decades ago. Sometimes it is just curiosity about the rustic stone buildings with slate roofs that share the urban Phoenix environment with new condos and light rail. A visionary plan is in development to enhance the Center's mission to "preserve Irish heritage and culture and illuminate the culture of Ireland and the Irish in America." In the works is an 11,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art library which will house cultural and educational resources to bring the richness of Ireland, past and present, to the general public.
