Located 24 miles southeast of Chicago, St. John is filled with quiet neighborhoods, quality schools and churches.
St. John is a well planned community. An extensive bicycle and pedestrian trail winds through lovely subdivisions. Over 20 well equipped parks and an active Park program provides a myriad of activities for our residents. We have many local specialty shops and selected larger retail stores. We are looking toward our families' future with the construction of new schools, churches and safety facilities.
Throughout the year, St. John offers numerous festivals and events for our residents and visitors. Please check our events page for upcoming activities for you and your families.
So whether you have a growing family, are empty nesters or somewhere in between you'll find we are close enough to urban areas to make it a short drive there and yet far enough away to be a refuge of quiet simplicity.
Sally...Thanks for the response. The area in Northwest Indiana is very nice. We are about 30 miles from Downtown Chicago. We have a vast majority of people that live in Northwest Indiana and commute to Chicago. The homes & real estate taxes are less expensive in Indiana. That is why I am licensed in Indiana & Illinois.
By the way...I enjoy reading the posts of yours in regards to Hawaii. One of these days my wife and I will be out there...we just have not planned anything yet. We are going to try and go in 2008. Take care.
Chuck: Your posts are turning interesting as well. Fortunate we live in a beautiful place...everyone wants to visit! My children are grown but their grandparents from dad's side lives in Elk Grove Village, Illinois...close to Schaumberg. Is that close?
Hey, this is nice and I'm sure would be very beneficial for someone traveling out that way
