Downtown Columbus Georgia is thriving, new eateries, pubs, businesses and landscaping on Broadway!
It won't keep you dry in the rain and may not provide a lot of shade. It's Art! It will give you something to talk about, you might even wonder, what were they thinking. Broadway is dotted with metal sculptures, one of my favorites is at Heritage Park on lower Broadway.
This part of Broadway is a bit more traditional, but there is ample space for artistic expression of all types.
From Here it only gets better and more interesting! By the way this beautiful structure is for lease, in the past it has housed several banks.
If my memory serves me correctly. It seems that in the 1980's Rankin Square was the focal point and the beginning of Downtown Columbus Georgia revitalization efforts.
The Fine Arts Center replaced the Columbus Police Department, which sat in the shadow of the Government Center since the 1970's. This state of the art theater is home to the Columbus Symphony and hundreds of art and drama students from Columbus State University.
