Many have asked how to add, remove & change the order of your widgets on your outside blog. So, today I put together a short tutorial on how to do all of this. If you are not familiar with how these widgets work, watch this simple 3 minute video & it will walk you through step by step.
If you are having trouble viewing what I do on my screen, click the full screen tab & watch.
If you are not familiar with what some of these widgets are, visit these posts in my widget series where I explain the some of the most popular widgets available for your outside blog:

Jeremy - Geez...I must have been asleep at the switch. I seem to have missed all of your postings about the widgets. This one is bookmarked!! Thanks for the great tips.
Very easy to follow tutorial, Jeremy. Rainers should be selective when adding widgets so that they don't add too many and slow down their page load times.
Thanks Jeremy - we sure appreciate all of the "how to" info that you put out for us, so often. This one reminds me that I need to take another look at my outside blog and tweak it!
My question is how can you put on a custom wideget on your outside box, such as a fax both from facebook? I see how you can add your twitter stream, but nothing from facebook.
Any suggestions on how to add the facebook fan box to an outside blog, I have it on my activerain blog, but can't figure out how to get it on the outside blog.
I think your approach will work wonders for the new members and help them get right into the ideas to be successful behind AR. Thanks for always thinking of new ways to engage us.
More active demos! This is great. Now I need to find the first step. Hahahahaha! The whole outside blog thing is still a little confusing for me but I'll figure it out eventually. One step at a time.
P.S. Do you know I'm still working on that nickname thing? It took me two years to nickname Bob. One of these days the perfect nickname is just going to pop into my deranged mind :)
At the risk of sounding ignorant, I have a question. What is an ourside blog and why do I need one. I have a personal website that I post blogs to regularly. I understand the cost is $19.00, is that monthly?
Also, on a personal note, how long have you lived in Myrtle Beach. You may know my sister-in-law or her husband. If you prefer to send a private message email would be fine.
Jeremy - have you found that the widgets make loading your page more difficult and slow? It seems to be the case for me, so I only put a couple of widgets on my page... thoughts? suggestions?
Bev & Bob- If you need help setting up your outside Blog, feel free to contact me. I am planning on doing a few tutorials on that over the next few weeks, but we don't want you to wait that long!
Emily- The ones that I have on my Outside Blog do not seem to be slowing down the rate of which my page loads. Although I do not have many of the 3rd party widgets running on my page.
Jeremy..Excellent demo...would be nice to do one for slide or one of the other programs available..Brad has demonstrated them in the past but a refresher would be helpful..thank you

Jer...
I really liked this "active" demo. Now, I wish that you would do one for "EVERYTHING" on AR because nothing beats a visual demonstration!
