How God led me into Real Estate:

I have no doubt that God led me into Real Estate.  It's funny how He works things out sometimes, but when we look back at it, we can always see that He was working things together for our good (Romans 8:28)

I have always enjoyed meeting people and have often hosted luncheons or coffees for new ladies in the area.

I often thought that about becoming a REALTOR®, but never followed through with it. When my youngest child was in high school, I attended UNF to finish my degree in Psychology.  After receiving my BA, I took a couple of masters level courses at UNF but felt that the masters program there was not a good fit for me.  

I decided to pursue a Masters degree in counseling through Liberty University knowing that I would be getting a faith based counseling degree. I planned to become a Marriage and Family counselor.  After a few months of watching the videos, studyng on my own and taking tests with a proctor, I was really struggling.  This was unusual for me as I have always enjoyed studying and have been a good student. 

One day while praying on the telephone with my prayer partner, I told her how I was feeling and commented that I was not sure if I was in the center of God's will.

She said that she had been sensing the same thing commenting that she had noticed how unsettled I felt.  We prayed and asked God to show me specifically what he wanted He me to do. Later that day, I sensed God's still small voice speaking the words REAL ESTATE.  As I continued to pray over the next several days I became more sure that God was leading me into Real Estate.  

I contacted the registrar's office at Liberty University and was able to receive a full refund for the courses that I had not yet taken! 

I went to work with Watson Realty Corporation as they had a reputation for offering the best training and support for new agents.  That was back in 1999.  Since then we have moved to Virginia and I have been a licensed REALTOR® in Virginia since 2004 and find that God often uses me to minister to and pray for and with my clients.  

As I said at the beginning of this blog, it is funny how God works things out sometimes.  After we had been living in Virginia for several years, I called the prayer partner I mentioned earlier who still lives in Florida.  She and I had not talked in a while and guess what?  She has become a REALTOR®!  I am honored every time He leads someone to me who is looking for a Christian REALTOR®.  Often, the client may not be looking for a Christian REALTOR® and we just happen to "find out" about each other's faith.
