I currently have an Iphone 2G, which means second generation. First generation, was I believe the planning stages and hostly as this phone is becoming two eyars old, I see that it was not made to last.

I have some issues with it, such as resetting itself to the home screen when I didn't command it to, or getting overheated from a charge and just not behaving, like a spoiled child that must have their way.

So I am thinking about purchasing a newer model.  The 3G price sounds great, $99.00 and I would get double the memory but that newer model, the 3Gs sounds great. A video camera, 3.0 mp camera and all the other features of the 3G.

Does anyone have the 3Gs iphone?  I am wondering if it is worth the extra 100 dollars for the video, as currently I will ahve to purchase a video camera for business.

Please leave your pros and cons on the iphone.

Thanks

I've been thinking about getting an iphone too.  Can't wait to see the responses from other iphone users.

I upgraded to the 3Gs and I love it.  Paid $199 because I wanted the video - which is very very cool.  You only get 45 seconds - but I can imagine you can do a LOT for a quick virtual tour and send to a client - or post quickly to YouTube.  If you need more - just take two or three clips.  There are other features - you can Google ipHone for a comparison from Apple website.

Enjoy!

I love the Iphone!  It's an "old" 3G model, but great for internet, cool applications, and ease of use!  Go for it Crystal !!

I heard you need to check your e-mail on IPhones rather than it being pushed to your device, as is done by Blackberry.  Is that true?

I have five different email accounts on my iphone, I prefer using my iphone to read them rather than having to sign in to each individual site to retrieve them.

How are you liking the GPS on the iphone?  Is it large enough to view as driving?

Are the speakers better in the 3G models?  Or am I just getting older?

Speaker could be better.  I like the GPS.  You can make it as large as you want, but it doesn't have voice directions.  As for email, you can manually check or have it pushed.  Pushing drains the battery more, which might be the biggest negative with the iphone for me (battery life).

No iPhone. Verizon does not have it yet. I am wondering if they will pick it up in January. I have heard both good and bad from the business side of the phone...

I honestly have had a lot of trouble with my iphone, and if I had it to do over again I would probably go with a blackberry.

I bought a 3G and so far so good. Going to buy my daughter one next week. I love the dual speakers and I dont even need to use the radio with this....

GPS isnt good, cause i cant SEE it...lol but thats what a mounted GPS is for.
