Building blogging steam takes time ...but once you get rolling you're on your way to success!

Blogging for business successBlogging for business is not a shortcut to success. Rather, it can be an effective tool for those seeking to maximize their Internet exposure and that are willing to continually fuel the fires of the blogging engine.

And don't expect to leave the station at full speed. The blogging train starts slowly, and gradually builds up momentum as lumbers along. It takes a long time to get up to speed.

And most importantly, the blogging firebox must constantly be replenished with fresh fuel or the engine will eventually wind down to a grinding halt.

It's all a matter of putting everything into place and then setting the wheels in motion first, and then continually tending the engine as it rolls rumbles along the track to success!

And before you know it, you're on your way!

Richard, how wonderful! You used those photos, which are great, so well in this post. And you are correct, you have to keep fueling the fire, and find the right mixture.

Richard, trying to keep the blogging firebox replenished can be a challenge. Your post stresses the importance of persistence when blogging. Thanks for the reminder. Good analogy.

Wow you've got it nailed to a T.  What a perfect analogy - who can't relate to this and 'get it'.  Love Love Love the train pics - I'm with Paddy I think I can - I think I can - I think I can! Choo Choo!  And it's 6:44 am on a Sunday morning and I'm out of the station already!!

There are a lot of people who just don't have the patience to effectively blog. They want the instant success from it, but as you say, it takes time and consistency.

Richard,

Loved the train analogy.  Google is an ever-hungry taskmaster that constantly needs to be fed.  Sometimes I'm able to whip up a pork roast....other times I'm scrambling for a bag of Fritos.....got to keep building that momentum!

Richard:  Love that your photos here are black and white.  Perfect.  Blogging can be a great shot in the arm for your business, if you do it consistently.  And the fresh content is so important.  Have seen many in my market tack on the points at lightning speed, but if the content is not there, the results are not either.  A quick MLS search will show you that blogging adds very little to your business if you are not willing to do the original content.

Richard - There have been time when I have found myself running out of steam and feel like I'm the the little caboose trailing behind.  With that said I continue to chug along and  just keeping stoking those fires with as much fuel as I can to keep that train on the right track.

It is easy to think that blogging for a short while will bring unlimited success. It more like unlimited blogging will bring some success.

If you don't continue to put coal or wood on the fire, the engine will slow down and eventually stop!
