STUDENT DESIGNS PROMOTE ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND

SHREWSBURY, N.J. – Students in the Commercial Art Department at Red Bank Regional High School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts submitted artwork to promote the Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate of Shrewsbury’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16.

The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts is a vocationally-structured program that encourages students to regularly submit their work in regional, state and national competitions. Students obtain admission to the academy through a rigorous portfolio submission or audition process.

Mariska Voell’s design was chosen for the poster and the sales associates at Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate of Shrewsbury had it mounted for her portfolio. Students Megan Mahon and Victoria Gennaro had artwork chosen for additional promotional materials. The three students received a gift certificate to the Grove, which has graciously provided space for the June 16 event on its grounds at 597 State Highway 35.

A simultaneous Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be held at Christ Church Shrewsbury, at Four Corners, the intersection of Broad Street and Sycamore Avenue. Members of the church’s Volunteer Youth will attend the stand. Pony rides will add to the fun and funds raised for the effort.

Party Pizazz has donated the use of an inflatable Moonwalk. Macon Goldman will donate her face-painting talent for the event. Signs By Tomorrow has donated the banners. The Borough of Shrewsbury has provided the permission for the day’s events.
