Parking in Mission Valley condo complexes, Mission Valley, San Diego, and California is a source of contention, and probably will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Some condominium complexes offer Pontiac Trans Amunderground secured parking, individual garage parking, community garage parking, tandem garage parking, carport parking, and sometimes street parking, although I'm not aware of any Mission Valley condo complexes that rely solely on street parking.

Generally, you'll get at least one reserved parking space when you buy a condominium. Some will also provide you with a Visitor Pass. Since almost everyone in Southern California has their own car, if there are three or more adults who will be living in your condo, each with a car, finding parking nearby might be a strenuous and maddening activity.

Let your Realtor know exactly what you need in terms of parking so that you won't be looking at a condo that cannot meet your needs.

Parking can be a big consideration... not only for the potential owners, but for their guests as well. It can be a real problem to find guest parking in some complexes.

Hey, Jim. This is another great point for buyers to remember. I make it a point to mention that to all the visitors here at The Legends. Thanks, Jim

Hey, Joan - I probably should have mentioned something about guest parking. Thanks for bringing it up. In Mission Valley there is at least one complex that has no guest parking, and on the other side of the coin, there is one that has more guest parking than it does owner parking. I know of a complex up in Scripps Ranch where each unit gets only one covered parking place, and everyone else has to park on the street. The street happens to be quite a distance away, making it difficult to do something simple that might need to be done on a fairly regular basis, like unload groceries.

Hey, Jim - Parking might be the #1 complaint that condominium complexes here in Southern California get. Some of the parking are so small that only a VW Beetle would fit in them. Good luck if you have a Ford F350, a Cadillac Escalade, a Ford Expedition, etc. Of course, there are also some with covered parking spaces where the cover is too low so that one of those monster cars wouldn't fit under it anyway.
