I've been trying to get a short sale to close for a few weeks now. Things have been going along like most short sales. In otherwords it's been a trying experience.  We have had a lot of little things to take care of and it seems like everywhere we look there is another little challenge. Finally we are down to the last item the appraiser asks for. We need an inspection of the fireplace insert. Have you ever tried to find a fireplace vendor with little or no notice? We were scheduled to meet at 1:30 and I was there early to catch up on a few phone calls while not having to use my bluetooth. The chimney sweeps show up early. Early, folks when was the last time a vendor was early? We promptly take a look at the situation and it was not good, not good at all. Suggestions were made. I thought Police tape would be the best solution but that was voted down. We ended up removing the insert and decommissioning the insert on the spot. We were only scheduled for a inspection and they made the work happen on the spot! Fast, friendly and affordable.
