I wonder if the fountains in front of government buildings will be emptied and shut off.

That would be a great place to start.  I never cease to be amazed at the waste in construction of government buildings.

Interesting question Lenn, I will have to check that out since Austin is the State of Texas capitol, it could be there is a fountain on the grounds. :)

The south has had lots of replenishing rains. Last year this time we couldn't water our lawns or wash your cars. This year the reservoirs are full.

Laura, I remember last year hearing that Atlanta was in bad shape for water.  Im glad the rain has come to your area, we have heard predictions that the fall will bring us much needed rain,  lets hope they are right.  Our big lake is down 30 feet from normal.

Not to make light of the situation but maybe they could fill the water fountains with some of the Shiner Bock Beer you guys have down there. Of course then you would have the college kids running through the fountains!

Gail,

Sounds like some very drastic restrictions.  Hope these restrictions will not be in place very long.

Laura says they have to much water think we can get her to send some our way. Yes Gail it certainly is dry. Canyon Lake is a its lowest in history. I understand Medina lake is the same, something like 43 feet down.

I'm wondering if some of these playscapes are going to have to turn off their water - like Terra Burger.

I saw on the news where home owners were being busted b/c of their gardners and construction people using water during the day time as well.
