Keller Williams is based in Austin Texas and has many many fine offices throughout the World.  Every year the KW staff at the International Office here in Austin work hard to bring about a convention full of fun and learning.  Intensive training, mini tech training and lots more than I could tell you about.

Welcome to Austin, this week we are still entrapped in the record breaking heat wave with no rain in sight.  What that means is its 103 - 101 everyday and out night time lows are about 75.  Inside the Convention Center it will be cool.  But outside its awful.  If you are from a much milder climate please be advised to leave most jackets and coats at home.

Also, today is the beginning of Stage 2 water shortage and conservation.  Unless you ask for water at a restaurant it will not be automatically served.  We have been in a drought for many months and our lakes are low so not quite as picturesque as normal.

Be sure to take a walk by Lady Bird Lake, it runs through downtown and the walking trails are very accessible.

Welcome to Austin, its a lively city, much to do, much to see and its like no other part of Texas!  It is not the cactus and tumbleweeds of the Old Western movies, Austin is green and thriving.  Enjoy yourself!  Come back often and soon!

At first I read your post and thought, Gee I didn't know Gail was with KW. Won't make it this week. Too much travel, too hot. LOL

No I wish we did have hot weather up here for a few remaining weeks.

Missy, I was with KW until Jan of this year when I move to SKY, but KW is an outstanding company and since I was called last week and asked to attend, it was a reminder about Mega Camp, definitely a good event.  I just wanted to let everyone know it is HOT HOT HOT here in Austin.  :)

I'm wondering if the big KW convention here in Austin is like the big Mary Kay convention that's held every year in Dallas...  same MLM concept, so same cheering I'm sure.

Larry, I won't be going this year, but im sure everyone will learn a lot and have fun too.

Lou, hot hot hot, records breaking like ice melting. :)

Donna, I did not see that rah rah stuff when I went.  I did see some applause for the speakers who talked about the SHIFT in the market, last year, the technology camp was full of things and how to's .. there was an inspirational speaker too, so people could see what others had overcome in their life to be successful.  Of course I have never been to a Mary Kay convention, so I could not compare it,  I do know that agents from many agencies attend Mega Camp, not just KW agents.  Its many classes in one location.

I've never heard of this Mega Camp so it sounds interesting if it's many agencies attending.

Hi Gail... Mega Camp is a great event and Austin is a great host city each August!

@Donna... Not at all a Mary Kay Convention... it is really a few days of education (including 1 day focused specifically on Tech topics), motivational speakers, industry insights, a vendor fair for RE related services.  I have gone for several years and am missing not being there this year since my brokerage move.  :(
