One of the best reasons to stage a home for sale is to make it appeal to a wide range of potential buyers. This lovely log home in the Orlando suburbs was owned by a weaver, who had two looms in the home’s loft. Odds were against any buyer climbing the steps, seeing the loft, and exclaiming, “Oh, good! I’ve been wondering where I would put my looms!” There just aren’t enough weavers out there to make this a selling point. The loft itself was the selling point, but the looms were what viewers noticed.

The home owner called in Gloria Home Staging to help her get the home ready to sell, and our job in this loft was clear: make it appeal to the majority of buyers, who just want to relax in their lofts. The loom that she was keeping had to be moved to a less prominent place. The extra loom, as well as some tables and shelves that weren’t going to be used, would need to be removed. The gnome collection had to go, too.

Loft before    Loft before

After the owner’s heroic job clearing out the loft, it was ready to stage. First, we transferred the loom to the far side of the loft. We moved the futon to face the entry, and added the TV we had exiled from the master bedroom. Since we wanted as much color as possible, we left the yarns pretty much as they were on the shelves. The red throw we added to the futon was a welcome addition to the color palette, as well.

Loft after    Loft after

Now the room is simple and peaceful. Nothing distracts buyers from noticing the room’s beautiful wood or its spaciousness. There is a clear path to the balcony beyond. It is appealing in every way. If you have a home for sale in the Orlando area, Gloria Home Staging can help it appeal to your buyers. Give us a call!

Nice job! Looks like the maximum amount of return for the least amount of expenditure on the homeowner's part. By removing the clutter, you transformed the space and made it very appealing. The red throw is a good touch.

Laurie, excellent job showing the square footage that they are wanting to sell.  Every square foot has value and buyers need to see it.   Receptive and inclined sellers are great, aren't they.

I always wondered what happened to all the gnomes that seem to disappear from area gardens!

I love this transformation, Laurie.  You did great editing and then arranged what you kept to highlight the spacious yet cozy feel of this space.  Nice job leaving the yarn and adding the pop of color in the throw.

Leslie - Thanks! It really was a good investment for the owner. She put in a lot of hard work, but she got a beautiful home to market, and she had all that stuff to sell that her yard sale.

Ginger - It is such a pleasure to work with sellers like her! May we all have more such sellers! Thanks for stopping by.

Mary - Yeah. All the gnomes came to live here, until we chased them out! (There were some by the pool that we didn't quite get to, so they're probably multiplying...) Thanks so much for your comment - I'm glad you enjoyed the changes!

WOW - bet this was a "looming" task to tackle....  hope the thought of Staging didn't "loom" over you at night..... Were the Owners ever "looming" over your shoulder?....  Thank you, thank you: I'll be here all week  =D

You did a fantastic job and it was great that the Sellers jumped in as well.

Beautiful room! I love that it shows so much function. I love the loom. It says to me that if I lived there I would be crafty and have time to do artsy things like weave. Very cool. I used to show "loom rooms" all of the time when I did model homes.

Connie - You made me laugh! You made my 12 year old son laugh! And I'm glad you liked the staging!

Allegra - Thanks! It is a beautiful room to be in; it almost feels like a tree house. It had so much interesting stuff to work with, once we got all the extras out. The yarn was wonderful, especially in a home that desperately needed color. And the loom itself added a lot of character. Did you actually use looms in your "loom rooms?"

I love yarn! I sometimes want to buy it and I don't even knit!

Yes, I rented looms from a place called "The Loom Lady" believe it or not. She would set it all up with a beginning weaving on it.

Allegra - That is so cool. I would thing it would really set a model home apart from its competition. And I know what you mean about wanting yarn, though I don't even crochet -- some yarn is just so luscious. This home owner/weaver owned alpaca for a while, and had spinning wheels she used to spin her own yarn. That wasn't the colorful yarn, though, so I'm glad that's not the only wool she used! Thanks for dropping in again!
