Keep Those Doors Revolving!

Referrals are the cornerstone of our business.  They're what makes us last.  Always make sure that you're keeping your doors revolving.  Let everyone know that you're in real estate and about your expertise.  Share information about your community and your market.  Blog for business, use your social networking tools to meet new contacts and stay in front of old ones.  Let your past clients know that the best way they can reward you for a job well done is by helping you spread the word by telling their friends and family about you.  James and I have implemented a referral plan for our sellers to help those referrals keep pouring in.  Everyone knows someone and there's always someone looking to buy or sell.  During my listing presentations I hand out an advertisement that gives seller a reason to pass the word about my name.  They have a chance to lower the commission on the sale of their home when working with me and referring clients to me.  1 referral equals .5% off, 2 = 1% off and up to 3 referrals = 2% off the total commission due at closing.  The people that they refer to me must either enter into a buyer agreement with me or a listing contract with me during the term of that seller's listing.  This is just one of our creative ways to keep the referrals coming and ensure word of mouth out there.  I know there are those of you that don't believe in discounting your commission, but with the potential to have 3 new clients and those 3 each giving 3 and so on...what have you really got to lose?  What other ways do you keep your doors revolving in this business?

Thanks Debra!  It doesn't always work out to where they can send you referrals, but even just the word of mouth helps a ton for future business!

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Kathleen-

That's an AWESOME IDEA - everyone can use a discount these days, and I agree with you, if your name gets out more and more, everyone wins!

Keep up the great ideas and thanks for sharing!
