September 11 is only a few weeks away: Fly Your Flag!

I am sure that we all remember EXACTLY where we were on 9/11. I know I was just outside of DC in a meeting that never happened and spent a hellish ride home not knowing anything. First thing I did when I got home was put out a flag, I don't even know why, and I never understood the patriotism that caused so many to enlist in the military after 12/7/1941 until that day.

I received a "chain" email reminding everyone to fly the American flag on September 11th and to tell 11 friends to do the same.

So this is my Chain Email to remind the 156,531 members of Active Rain and my friends on FaceBook to fly their flags to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

Robert - Thanks! I remember where I was! Just like yesterday ... sitting glued to the TV wondering what was going on! It was a day I'll not forget.

Hi Rob--You're right... we'll all remember where we were... I haven't had TV for many years, but had gone to pick up my daughter and found myself standing in my ex's living room, watching the imagesover and over. It was surreal. At first I thought I was watching the preview to some new action film... then he explained it to me...

Tamara, NO TV??? Are you CRAZY -- I cant imagine not having TV. How does you daughter feel about the lack of one?

My daughter hasn't had it at "my" house since her dad and I split up... that was 12+ years ago. She's 16 now and has never really made a fuss about it. We do movies and the like, but not the "unbaised" reports of the "free" press and all the garbage that they have for kids... There are some great things on TV, don't get me wrong, I just felt I didn't need the distraction or need to make the effort to find them!

I wont let my kids have a TV in their rooms, but they would probably shoot me if they did not have one at all. Do you drive a horse and buggy to work too?
