Our new cat

By

Our neighborhood (Bryan Place) has recently experienced a rash of dead animals.  Animal control experts believe people are letting their dogs out at night to roam.  The form packs, become aggressive and kill cats.  The experts base this on the fact the animals are killed but not eaten so the dogs are being feed.

We recently lost one of our cats and suspect this is what happened.

Yesterday we visited the SPCA in McKinney, and adopted what we think is a great cat.  We were looking for an older cat that was de clawed as we will not be letting this cat out of the house.

There were several cats that's matched what we were looking for.  As we spent time with each one, Sharon was sure that was the one she wanted.  Finally they brought one in that had recently been brought to the shelter.  We knew this was the one.  One thing for sure we knew this one had not missed any meals.

Happy to report that after just a few hours she has accepted us and plans to make this her home.  We decided to name her Chanel.

I have three Siamese who are "house cats," kept inside for their own safety! There's a cat flap in the bedroom so they can go out into a little screened porch of their own, with carpeted shelves on several levels for napping.

Your cat is lucky to be adopted by a family who will love her and keep her safe. I love her coloring!

Richard, you should have called!  We've got an older declawed cat we'd ship right to you!  His name is Piper.  We're out of room here with 4 dogs!

Congrats on the new one!

Richard, it looks like you've found a great companion. My Wife is not allowed to go anywhere near an animal shelter because she would bring them all home. lol

Our family has 7 rescued cats, divided between 3 households and 2 continents :-)  I'm banned from animal shelters and adoption fairs as they all need a loving home.  Glad Chanel found one with you.

Hi Richard... somehow I can just picture Sharon bonding with this one!  Being allergic, my bonding would need to be from a distance!

Well, welcome new Pet - Chanel. Congrats on the new addition, although I have to say I am not a big fan of the little surprises they bring home after they are done playing with them. LOL

Richard, This is terrible that people are letting their animals out, and they are killing the cats. Good idea to not let this cat outside. Enjoy your new pet.
