Claudia Krusch, Translator, Business Woman, & Internet Marketer

(Deadlines for this contest have been extended...see below...in order to accomodate affiliates who wish to promote this contest to their readers.)

Long time friend, and member of The Value Pages Group, Claudia Krusch of CK Translations recently contacted me regarding a promotion that she wanted to launch. Claudia is full of great marketing ideas, so I'm always curious to know what she has up her sleeve. To learn more about Claudia and her translating and language education business check out her appearance on the Get More Business Show.

You Want This Prize!

Claudia's idea is to give away a Free Translating Package whereby she will translate a lucky winner's website or blog into Spanish (up to 5 pages)! I think this is an incredible idea. The Latino market is one of the strongest fastest growing markets in the country. Latino's tend to be savers and to a large extent have distanced themselves from the tempting easy credit traps that have hurt so many Americans. This means that Latinos are more comfortable spending right now than a lot of other people. Who wouldn't want to make their companies, products and services available to this strong segment of the American population?

So, you may be wondering where I come in with this. Claudia reached out to me because of my expansive social media network and the relationships that I have with business owners all across the country. We want to get the word out about this promotion/contest to as many people as possible.

Here's how it's going to work:

If you have a website or blog that you would like to be considered for this promotion/contest, please complete the form below. Please be assured that we will not sell your information and the only people who will have access to your contact info are Claudia and myself.

You may have noticed that I dropped the words winner and contest several times. To maximize the exposure of all parties involved - CK Translations, The Value Pages Group, and Your Business, should you choose to enter, we are going to let the public vote and choose a winner. Only one VOTE will be allowed per IP address so make sure to vote from both your home and work computer ;-) and have all your co-workers, friends, family, and contacts swing by the voting page to vote in your behalf.

Vote for your favorite to choose the WINNER

Although you can only VOTE once, you can check back as often as you like to see who's ahead in the contest and how you're fairing against the competition. Click here for the VOTING PAGE.

Your website or blog URL as well as your answer to why you deserve to win will be compiled on the voting page for readers to examine before casting their VOTE, so don't skimp on filling out the form!

All entries must be received by Wednesday October 14, 2009 at Midnight (Eastern Time).

The voting period will be from Thursday October 15, 2009 at 12:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) through Monday November 16, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. (Eastern Time).

Going where no man has gone before - wouldn't you?

Great idea for a promotion/contest.  I'm just curious, though.  Since I don't speak any Spanish, what do I do when somebody posts a comment in Spanish or visits my Spanish language website (which I, myself, cannot read) and tries to contact/communicate with me?

John - Claudia has programs to help learn Spanish, if that would help.  You could also develop a referral relationship with someone fluent in Spanish.  Lots of choices.  Lots of opportunity.  Thanks for the question!

Great opportunity to post, Jason!  I believe targeting a Hispanic market goes beyond translation.  After you have attracted them with keywords and site content in Spanish, they expect someone to assist them in Spanish as well.  The FAR has some contracts and transaction forms available in Spanish, but unless you know the language (and the dialect) real well, it would be hard to advice a seller, buyer, tenant or landlord accordingly.

This is a phenomenal opportunity, though, if someone really wants to attract the market. We love it when business owners go through that effort to let us know they want our business, even when we understand, read and write English perfectly (some do.).

Thank you again for posting this fantastic article!

Elayna - Great insights!  Thanks for your kind words and for affirming the feeling that I've always had that the efforts count, even if all the details aren't perfect.  Thanks so much for commenting!

Great Ideas Jason. Just want to let you know that just as Eleyna stated, one also needs to understand the culture. Even a fluent Spanish speaker needs to understand the different backgrounds, manners and body language. Many hispanics will not look at you in the eye and it is not out of respect, as it is respect why some of us don't do it.

Best of luck to all and if I can help I'll be waiting in Texas.

Depending upon where you live, that is a great offer. SOme people use transaction programs; I've noticed they are not very reliable!

The Hispanic market is huge in our wonderful South Florida market and having a Cuban husband helps too:) Good luck to those who enter your contest.

Doug - All good options if you're in a bind.  I've used the Google feature and found it to be about 90% accurate, which might be ok...depending on what you're translating.  Thanks for your comments!

Doug - I also noticed in the Google Translation feature you have on your site that Spanish isn't an option.

Jason, this is a great service. However, I agree with the others who have commented on what good would it do if you can't speak the language to the leads you get? Answer - hire a bi-lingual Buyer's agent or marry a bi-lingual person like Katerina did. :)

Congrats on the feature post!  You do need to have a plan in place when a spanish speaking contacts you.....With your blog/website in spanish they will assume you can speak the language.

Have a great week!

Frank & Sharon - No problems, only solutions!  I love the comment!

Kristin and others - Claudia loves to teach people how to speak spanish!  Her company also offers translation services on an as needed basis.  If a translated website were to thoughtfully mention that Spanish isn't your primary language, but you're in the process of learning and that you have access to translators, I think it would give a great impression to spanish speaking visitors.  Plus the website would also rank under google searchs in Spanish.  (If you speak spanish, you don't google in english.)  It kind of makes sense for her to offer this promotion, huh?
