new homes for sale on Maui - bank owned homes for sale on MauiBank Owned Homes - Kihei Maui Hawaii

Tomorrow will be spent looking at a lot of Bank Owned homes, and short sales in Kihei Maui.

Not all of these properties are bad looking either, in fact, many of them are only a few years old, and the owners have fallen victim to the poor economy and the so-called real estate bubble bursting.  One man's loss is another man's gain.  So with sheets of listings in hand I'll be taking a client around to see what the market has to offer in the way of distressed properties for sale.

Buyers - there is so much selection right now, that you can afford to be picky!  Pick one or two you like and make some offers.

old Paia Maui home for sale, sold for cheap

Currently for sale in Kihei Maui, short sales and REO homes start at $280,000 and go up to $1,995,000.  That last one is beachfront.

We're going to try and see a dozen or more, depending on how things go.  And there will be a few drive-bys to check out the neighborhood.  This will be a very interesting outing and I will come back very wise!

If you're looking for a good deal on a starter home in Kihei Maui, give me a call.. I'm going to know where all the good ones are.

Hi Georgina, My wife and I LOVE Maui! Our favorite place in the whole world. I even started studying for my license out there. Been watching the listings out there come down in price and would love to be able to buy something. But now that the prices have come down and the market is in the tank it would be tough to make the move and start all over. Let me know what you find that is nice---we like Kihei a lot!

What a day!  I think 12 properties is a lot in 1 day - and drive bys!

Carole  - the unfortunate part is that the peopel losing their homes are the ones who thought they were lucky a few years ago.  It was too easy to buy a home with little or no money down.

Roy - Maui is my favorite place too!  I found out that if there's a screaming deal, there's buyers just waiting in the wings for the change to grab it.  The good ones don't last long, so it's a good idea to pay attention.

Jeff - you're right, I saw some pretty mean looking streets!  Luckily most of them were nice though.

Georgina, what is the economy like in Maui? What are the jobs?  I had a friend that said there were very few good jobs there.  Is that an exageration?  I really like Maui as well, just wonder what people do for a living, other than selling foreclosures that is.

Brian - our economy is faring better than some.  It's true that there are lot of jobs in the service industry, and the highest paying jobs are usually less than their counterparts on the mainland.  It's wide open for being creative and starting your own business, as the population continues to increase.  This might be a good topic for a post.  Thanks for asking about it.
