Austin TX Weather Record Heat Breaks another Record

Today, Austin TX Weather ties the #2 spot of 66 days over 100 degrees! This record spot has been held since 1923! That's a long time!

What's the #1 spot? It's going to be held in 2009 as we're almost there. The most days to hit 100 and over is 69 days, held since 1925! That's an 85 year old record!

This is a record that everyone would have been tickled to death to NOT break!!

However, now that we're this close, all I can think about is that we better break this record. I have not suffered this entire summer in soaking, sweaty clothes showing houses to get this far and the record not get broken.

We have ONLY 5 more days to go to break it, and Donna will not settle for a tie!!

2009 is officially the hottest year on record, but the number won't be official until the end of summer.

I wonder if Vegas has odds running on this and what they're paying... LOL

OK, Donna, now I know why swimming pools are so popular in back yards in Texas! Now that is hot!

Hi Donna... Interestingly, I heard on the news this morning that Dallas has only had 3 100+ degree days so far this month... and we have even had a reasonable amount of rain this summer. It's interesting what a difference 200 miles can make!

Hi Donna, for all the suffering already I hope you break the record if that is what you all want . ( I would rather have a cooling spell -I get cranky when its hot, lol) We have been in mid 90's all week and I thought that was bad. So we all empathize with you with what you all have had to endure. Reading your post about Austin reminded me that one of clients that lives there wants to move back to SD ( seasonally )and I need to send her some properties.

Pat, Pools are less common in Austin than Dallas because it's harder to dig through rock than the Dallas clay soils.

Steve, Like I wanna hear it... :P

Donna I always prefer hot or record breaking sales to record breaking heat =)

holy moly.. I didnt realize you had been in 100+ for that long. Thats crazy. I was just talking to another parent during football practice that the weather has not been as bad as some past years. Obvioulsy that is just a statement for the North Dallas area and not Austin.

Its almost over.

John, Almost over? You're kidding, right?? We're getting a "cool front" down to 99 and 98 later in the week.

Donna we have also been having consecutive 100 degree days here in our area of Canyon Lake and New Braunfels. We did get a little rain last evening and some this evening; maybe the heat wave and drought is going to turn the corner.

Well, looks like it is going to be rather chilly today. Only 92! It'll get back to about 98 before you know it! LOL

C & C, It was cooler yesterday, but not today!

Steve, It's in the mid-90's and HOT! I hear it was only 90 when I was out of town over the weekend. I didn't get to enjoy that...
