There's no doubt about it.  In the competitive world of Real Estate in a hot market like the Triangle and Cary NC Real Estate Market I have a distinctive advantage!! My background in Business Development, working with customers, understanding consumers wants and needs, and how to "Get the Word" out have helped my business tremendously.

I have the abiltiy to do things that agents that have been in the business 30+ years do not.  I'm tech savvy, internet conscious, and know how to find real time information on properties that make me a better agent.  I can write a contract in my car on my HP Tablet PC Laptop (see my previous blog on this tool), get signatures, and print or fax the contract to the LA/SA with my wireless printer ON THE SPOT!!! The Triangle Area has some of the most sophisticated and educated workers in the country.  Why not use the Tools of the Trade they use to provide them with a distinct advantage!    Attached is a link to HP's website educating Realtors about the benefits of going mobile which you can find here

Why would we ever go back to the old days when agents didn't have the tools we have today?  I know my clients do their homework.  They go to the web and see who has a presence.

They ask questions like these?

Who does their homework? Who knows the neighborhoods? Who knows how to negotiate the best deal?  My clients know I've got what it takes and choose me time and time again because of my expertise and background.  They know that, in a competitive market like the Triangle's, I have real time information on properties to negotiate the best deal when there are multiple offers on the FIRST day!!

Thanks for visiting and hearing my voice.  Yes, that's my voice and my opinion.  I'd love to help you find the best home for you and your family in the Triangle.  Visit my website or Email me at Tracy@TracySantrock.com for more information.

Please NOTE:  Please check with your IT department on software compatibility. My office is only compatible with XP Pro and Vista Pro but no consumer packages.  It would be a big mistake to buy a consumer package and have to try to retrofit your software.

It's as if a connection develops even before the client meets you. What's the statistic...don't they say 70-75% of home buyers begin their search online? It's like you say Tracy, they're going to do their research online. They're going to get to know you first online. They're going to access all of the free information that you have provided for them. And if it's not readily accessible, they're jumping ship to the next realtor's website.

It's not until they are willing and ready to buy that they will have contacted you. But it's up to us to make our web presence available and to provide them the online tools that are present in today's technological age.

Nice to meet you Tracy!

I think it's even higher than 70/75% now who start their search online.  You need to have a website, you need to have a cell phone, contact management database, laptop and portable printer that can all hook up in your car and the list just keeps getting bigger.  Personality and technical expertise working together for a better real estate transaction.

Tracy, I have a tablet P.C. too by Motion Computer. Couldn't live without it. I love my battery life, can be gone all day without re-charging. I've also posted on it, several times.

I came out of the high tech industry and could not believe how many agents knew nothing about computers.

I guess I'm not the only one moving into the 21st century.  So many agents are amazed at what can be done.  I find REALTORS are behind the rest of the business community in terms of  their capabilities...But not those on Active Rain...They are definitely above the curve.

Matt- I try my hardest..You keep up the good work too.

Ricardo - Bang on!  75% of all homebuyers start their search online.  What a great place to have a strong presence.

June - Probably close to 80%.  Clients are smart.  They read content, get a feel for the agent, interview multiple agents, and settle on a good "feel".

Missy - Why did you choose Motion?

Ron - The technology is nice to have but it's the agent that really makes the difference.

Danny - I'm not suprised that you came from the high tech industry.

I like it. Question? What wireless printer are you using. I have recently bought a MacBook and I almost have where everything I need I can use my Mac even  though most programs are not supported by Mac in the real estate industry. Now I need a printer to make everything happen. I to like technology.

The way its going the customers will just be able to do it all themselves. The technology is really in there favor.

 Tracy,

The hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and malls are now providing upscale tech services for these same consumers, and we are foolish if we do not tap into that as well.  Any client who asks for recommendations, we send them to one of our hot spots.

Hi Susan,

I use the HP Deskjet 460 Mobile Printer - I'm not sure if it works w/Macs though.  I added a photo and link to the HP site and products.

Sounds like the tablet PC makes more sense than a laptop. It's just hard to keep up with all the technology and constantly learning new software when I just want to be selling real estate!

I agree. In my opinion, tablet PC's provide greater utility than a laptop. You'll love One note as well!

My next laptop will be a tablet.  We need to keep up with technology- the dinosaurs are becoming extinct in this business!
