Race fans rejoice, neighbors be warned. The New Orleans Fairgrounds Racecourse announced recently that it will start its 138th season of horse racing on November 6. It will run, as usual, through the end of March in plenty of time to prepare the Fairgrounds for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival ("Jazz Fest").

Can't wait! As a neighbor in the Farigrounds Triangle neighborhood, we never fail to meet wonderful folks from all over the world, not to mention clients! It's another of our longstanding traditions that make me love this city all over again. Mint julips, anyone?

Horse racing is something that I have never understood with all the young horses that have to be euthanized each year. Our Del Mar Race Track continues to kill horses each year; see my husband's blog.
