Senator Edward Kennedy

I was watching the military take care of him with great dignity and found myself thinking of the fact that he has been present in the peripheral of my entire life. It is strange sometimes when you realize you have always been aware of something about someone you never really knew, yet know so much about. A sad day indeed...

Hi David ~ I just love that handsome picture of him -and I can his voice ringing in my ears when I read the quote.

Luckily here in Massachusetts there's coverage all day long on the local news station.  It brings me to tears over and over.  I can't believe we've lost him.

He did so, so much and was an absolutely amazing public servant.  What was aways most important to me about Ted Kennedy was that he was born to privilege but was a lifelong defender of the underdog.  It's all too rare nowadays.
