Facebook Took Me Away for Awhile . . . Let's face it, when you are F--ty-something, you can only absorb so much technology, social networking, and computer "stuff" at one time - - so with all the chatter about Web2.0, and repeatedly being asked "Are you on Facebook?" I finally took the plunge and signed on - - - being a sociology major back in college, I find this phenom fascinating. I haven't figured it all out yet, but enough to now be able to let it take me away momentarily each day, rather than for hours.
Now, I let Facebook Take Me Away each morning and maybe again in the afternoon - - I take a quick peek to see what friends and family are up to - - even teenage children of friends and college bound nieces and nephews will "friend" you - - - who knew? Pre-fb, I would lose track of this younger set in between our iinfrequent visits but now I don't have to. I do try to keep in mind that commercial on TV where the network guy points out "Other people can see that, you know . . . "
And, I do try to keep my Facebook postings more social, but hey, my work is a big part of what I do and by its very nature, a very social profession - - so yes, I have put some real estate stuff in there, too. It is what I am as well as what I do and what drives me to do other things, as well.
My last Active Rain post before today was almost 2 months ago (it is still relevant, however - - - Now you only have 94 days to close to be eligible for the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit) and I really am going to get back to posting here, but you have to understand . . . Facebook Took Me Away for Awhile!
If you need info about Maine or Maine Real Estate, you now have one more place to find me!
