This time in Pennsylvania ... WOOHOO !!!!!

http://www.oakmont-countryclub.org/

I'd like Tiger to nail this one. Choke Mickleson... how's the wrist?  VJ... old but steady... I like his chances.  Furyk...a threat any week.  Els....has had problems the past 2 years.

Ames?  Can he hang with the big boys? Garcia/ Paddy (harrington)/ the Goose/Adam Scott/Davis LoveIII/...???

Who do you like as #1 and #2?

I think the last one standing on Sunday evening will probably be the course.  From everything I've read about Oakmont it will be more difficult than Winged Foot where the winner was 5 over.  As for players I like Tiger, Luke Donald, and as an absolute darkhorse Anthony Kim.

Forgot about Luke.  He's starting to put a nice career together.

Anthony Kim....wowzers.

Rob.... I have only been once and that was to a PGA tournament at Oak Hill around 2003? In any case, I would be for Tiger Woods....  not because he is #1 in the world, but because he redefined golf. His work ethics...practicing, etc etc.....    a great example.

Rob-Even though round one is complete and Mickelson is +4, I am still going with him as #1 and Snedeker as #2.  Aloha and leave lefty alone!

Dave, Mickelson will not make the cut. I am typing this at 7:33 AM Est. Friday June 15th.

This one will be hard to pick but with Tiger only 3 strokes out after round one look for him to make a charge.

I absolutely love Tiger but always find myself hoping that someone else wins.  Congratulations on having the US OPEN in your back yard.

And Rob, I used to live in Ne Pa before I decided to leave the snowy winters behind.  How's everything in Allentown?

Jay-You know, I would like to be sitting at the 19th hole with you watching the Open on TV today and sipping a few cold beers as Mickelson plays a superb under par round to climb into serious contention.  Now let me go to PGAtour.com and see whats going on.  Have a good one!

Some crazy (bad) scores so far.  Phil and VJ are +6 for the day..wowzers.

Tiger may see an opening for a BIG push since he tees off around.......now.

Oh my goodness, I tried sticking with my fellow favorite lefty but I dont think he will be seeing the weekend.  Okay Rob and Jay, you guys got me.  I stuck with the White Sox forever and they eventually won the world series as well as da Bears so I thought I might get lucky on this one with Phil.  Oh well.....

Dave, projected cut is +10, Lefty is at +11 looks like bye bye for lefty. I used to really like Phil when he came out of college but when he used to force a lot of shots at the end of tournaments he just plain ole choked too many times.

I wish we were at the 19th hole too, that would mean we would be in Hawaii.

Aloha!!

Rob-What do you think?  Looks like anyones Open huh?  Are you playing this weekend?

Jeff Belonger is cool because he golfs and he has a great personality.  Hey, you guys would make a damn good 4 some......

Jay- Yeah he choked alright!  Hell, I could have played better than him today!  Or not.

You gentlemen have a damn good weekend and I hope you have time to sit and enjoy the last two rounds.  Maybe you are playing golf this weekend????  Aloha!

Geeze, what was up with Phil whining about how "DANGEROUS" the course was.

If the moron thought it was dangerous, he would have said so two weeks ago when he was there practicing.

And if he had made the cut and was ....say in 3rd place after two rounds , he would not have said a word.

He misses the cut and 'blames' the course. What a stinkin' loser.

I was disappointed in Tiger's missed opportunities - however second isn't terrible.  As I read through everyone elses comments, I had to say that UNLIKE THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS,(ho-hum again!) this was fun to watch because a totally unexpected person came in to win.  What a great US Open to watch!

You don't see Tiger let them slip away like that often. It looked like he was waiting for the feild to fold but one did not.
